Loïc Isliker and Paul de Groot getting after it with a more involved line in episode 2 of their series ‘Hidden Faces’. Back for redemption after a failed attempt, the two set out to ski a beaut of a steep couloir located between Les Marécottes and Les Portes du Solei in Switzerland. This steep lines requires a smart approach and a burly 60 meter repel into it. The cool thing about this series is that you can hear their dialogue and thoughts in real time as they work together to figure out the best way to tackle the line. Whether it’s about wind, snow quality, stability, timing, route finding or exposure, it’s awesome to see some of the thought processes that go into skiing these big lines safely and efficiently. An often overlooked side of the sport.
