The short film was directed, filmed, produced and edited by Randall Pinson, who created Gnarcolepski to “showcase an unorthodox perspective on athletes and the narrative of the mountains; with a goal of expressing larger messages with skiing and the mountains as a medium.”
This project was shot in Utah’s Wasatch Range and in Targhee, Wyoming. It gives a unique philosophical perspective on skiing and “discusses the magic of freeride as a sport and it’s unique ability to trade in competition for creativity; cultivating an environment that shows a closer resemblance to an art festival than a sports competition. The Venue face is a canvas, we as freeriders have the special privilege of giving that canvas a fresh perspective each time we drop in.”
